Orient Development consultants aims at understanding the needs of the disadvantaged communities, in particular, black communities. We aim to simplify the interpretation and application of participative development planning at national, provincial and local government levels in resolving development problems. Our clients are both the private sector and government clients. This company is a 100% Black owned South African Company.
The founding members are Mr Simthembile Sibhayi, Dr Muzi Matse and Ms Ms Gugulethu Ndlamlenze. Orient Development Consultants has a combined 25 Years of industry experience, access to a pool of expertise in the field, thorough knowledge of the region and sensitivity to the culture differences.
Our organization-cantered approach incorporates participative and coaching principles in providing strategic solutions to clients. It promotes organizational learning by providing tools to facilitate evidence-based decision making, building individual skills through training and coaching, and using information to inform organizational strategy.

Simthembile Sibhayi
Mr Simthembile Sibhayi (Lead Consultant) is a PhD candidate (UKZN) who has facilitated the implementation of numerous community development projects in the areas of social development, waste management, small business management and poverty alleviation in areas within KwaZulu-Natal. He has overseen the successful implementation of municipal award-winning projects and has over 6 years of community project management experience. Mr Sibhayi holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Management, an Honours degree in Community development and a Masters degree in Community Development Studies. a former member of the WEF Global Shapers. WEF Global Shapers is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements, and their drive to contribute to their communities. Dr Patrick Muzi Matse
Dr Patrick Muzi Matse (Strategic Advisor) is well experienced scholar in the areas of research and monitoring & evaluation. He holds a Phd degree and a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Cambridge, UK. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr Matse also has a B.A. Degree in Humanities from the University of Swaziland. He also has done certificate courses in Monitoring & Evaluation (OLIVE), Urbanization and Health in Developing Countries (UWC), Gender Based violence (Wits), Facilitation Skills. Community Engagement Specialist
Gugulethu Ndlamlenze
Gugulethu Ndlamlenze (Community Engagement Specialist) is a qualified community development practitioner who holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Post-graduate Diploma in Social Sciences (Community Development). She is currently pursuing her Masters in Community Development with a social development focus on mentoring models for the youth as a development strategy. Gugulethu has had extensive experience working in community, clinical and academic settings. She is highly skilled in administering trainings and facilitating development projects.
